Kora Shriners is a Lewiston, Maine chapter of Shriners International, a fraternal organization built on fellowship, community service, and local giving. Through programs like the annual Outdoor Expo and other year-round initiatives, Kora brings Maine people together and invests in the communities they call home. Your participation directly supports these efforts and helps keep that tradition going.

Every April, the Kora Shrine Outdoor Expo fills the Shrine Temple in Lewiston with Maine families, hunters, anglers, and conservation enthusiasts ready to celebrate the outdoors. It is a weekend that feels like exactly what this state is all about. Your entry helps make it happen, funding the planning, programming, and people that bring it to life year after year.

What is this drawing?
A monthly Gun of the Month drawing. One winner is selected during the first week of each month to receive the prior month featured firearm. Entries you purchase count for the current month only. Purchaser must physically be in Maine at the time of purchase. Location is verified. Winner must pass a background check and complete transfer through a licensed FFL.
Who is eligible to participate?
Participants must be physically located in Maine at the time of purchase (location verified) and be at least 18 years old. Winners must be legally eligible to purchase and possess the featured firearm, pass a background check, and complete the transfer through a licensed Maine FFL dealer. Some firearms are restricted to individuals age 21 or older. If a winner is at least 18 but under 21 and cannot legally take possession of the featured firearm, the winner will receive a gift certificate to the dealer equal to the firearm’s value.
How will I be notified if I win?
The winner will be contacted by phone and email using the details provided at purchase within two business days of the announcement. We will also post the winning ticket number and the winner’s first and last initial on our website within 24 hours of the announcement. The winner will have up to five calendar days to respond. If the winner cannot be contacted, does not respond in time, or is found ineligible, an alternate winner may be selected.

No. Because raffle tickets are a form of gambling, the purchase price is not tax-deductible—even though the net proceeds go to charitable work.
Will I owe taxes if I win?
Yes. You will report the prize as income when you file your annual federal tax return. To meet IRS requirements, the winner might need to submit a completed W-9 and a photo of a valid driver license or state ID so we can issue the required tax form.
